Earth Day is a day to celebrate the impressive work of innovators across the globe to solve our planet’s challenges. Fearless is engaged in numerous projects, including R&D of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and graphite from large-scale seaweed with our partners and support from the US Department of Energy (DOE). We are grateful to our team for their expertise and dedication. In related spheres, we value our colleagues who each take a piece of the earth puzzle and work diligently to learn and propose solutions. Together we make progress.
We engage with everyday people— scientists, engineers, and government—concerned over the changes in our systems, and know something must be done. We are empowered with their enthusiasm for the work. Everyone has ideas and expertise, yet no one alone has the answers. This is an amazing time in human history to combine forces and solve. People dedicate their lives to this incredible task. Our close friend and colleague, Dr. Nan Schaffer, visionary conservationist and large animal reproductive vet, worked to save the critically-endangered species of Sumatran rhino. Far from the ocean in which we work, Nan and Alyson spoke often of the challenges, both on land and at sea, oddly in parallel, as all systems are connected. We celebrate you, Nan, and your work which inspires us. You will always be in our hearts though you are no longer with us. We trust you’ve found fine crabs and oysters followed by dancing wherever you are!
